Being drawn to a great illustrated cover

Whoever said that illustrated covers don't work (it was probably a circulator, or a wholesaler) should look at the current issue of L’actualité. I'd say that was a pretty arresting, attention-getting and excellent cover for the public affairs magazine.

Actually looks very cheap, and the text is arranged quite lifelessly. A terrible cover, and certainly not a shining example for the power of illustration.

A terrible cover? I'll bet it sells well which is, after all, the point of a newsstand cover.

HOw come that sign doesn't say Arret, like all the other stop signs in Quebec?
