The Kit fashion and beauty online/print publication, names new editor-in-chief

The Kit, the online and print fashion and beauty publication owned by Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd., has announced the appointment of a new editor-in-chief -- Christine Loureiro, formerly the deputy Life editor at the Toronto Star
She replaces Doug Wallace, the editor for The Kit since it was founded in September 2010 as a digital-only beauty magazine. While relinquishing the title editor, Wallace remains as Chief Content Officer associate publisher, content.
The startup publication was acquired by the Star Media Group in 2011 and soon thereafter extended its mandate to encompass fashion and launched a weekly print publication.
The Kit's founding publisher, Giorgina Bigioni, said:
“Christine will be refreshing our creative mandate with new ideas to bring our audience the type of engaging, how-to-itive info they’ve come to rely on. She’s just what The Kit needs right now: a smart journalist with a great eye and passion for beauty and fashion.”

Kudos to the KIT for their innovative style. I hope the announced changes at the top don't signal a lesser role for Wallace... I'm a big fan.
